About me
THROUGH THE YEARS
Childhood
Martina was born in Buenos Aires and moved to Brazil when she was still a child. Her first desires to become an architect emerged during her travels to her hometown to visit her family, where she recalled her childhood seeing her grandma’s tea table, the details of the teacups, the crystal glasses, the green velvet sofa, her trips to the cottage, her harvest of each season’s fruits and flowers.
Her memories of Buenos Aires were always intertwined with the spaces she visited. And it was in this context that architecture became a part of her life, as Martina believes it is fundamental and special that these magical ambiances bring unforgettable memories. To be in a space that captures all of that, is akin to possessing a wellness pill.
Living in Brazil
Martina was raised in Brazil and initiated her studies in Architecture and Urbanism. The main point of this trajectory in university was the encounter with her professor Márcio Lupion, who taught her about the spaces, and what these same spaces would bring to the clients, mainly in how they’d feel and behave within that place.
This was fundamental for her to realize that, as an architect, she’d need to understand her client and create a welcoming environment that would provide peace, well-being and quality of life.
And it was in this way, at that starting point, that Martina created her way of working: always thinking about the sensations that people would feel in the environments she designed.
Living in the USA
After finishing her degree in Architecture and Urbanism at Mackenzie College, Martina moved to Miami, in the United States, and began her trajectory working with apartments of high quality in the region of Bal Harbor.
For ten years, she worked on buildings such as: St Regis, Fendi Chateau, Oceana, Marea and in the neighborhood of Coral Gables.
During this period, and while developing her career as an architect, Martina sought to understand her clients’ lifestyles, so she could transform the spaces into comforting environments in accordance with the activities they enjoyed, as her focus was always on bringing a sensation of well-being into each room she projected. And this well-being comes from the space adapting to the client's lifestyle.
Living in Europe
Martina’s parents always liked to travel. Her father had unforgettable memories of the trips he took when he was younger, especially to Europe. Because of this, he always thought it was important for Martina to have contact with other countries and cultures, and also making it so that she had unforgettable moments and memories.
The trip that most impacted her life was her first visit to Paris, a place she already had a very strong connection with, and since she always dreamed of living there, she felt totally familiar and most importantly, at home.
Her dream of living in Paris was also linked to experiencing immersion in French culture
Along the years in Europe, one of the points she learned about local architecture, was that each house conveyed the essence of the residents, and that each one was extremely different from others, and as such, it was impossible to find another one like it, since the houses never followed any type of tendency, but rather, the essence of the people living there.
Louis Vuitton
One of Martina's favorite books was the Louis Vuitton book, full of photos of old chests used for travel. She was in awe seeing the variety of chests, as they were made exclusively for the client. Chests for women, children, any unique pieces, chests with various compartments for innumerous items.
As she had always loved to travel, and adored the universe of Louis Vuitton, Martina dreamed of being able to work with them. A fact that became reality when she moved to Europe.
Martina had the opportunity of working with the architecture and interior design sector, developing stores for a diverse amount of places around the world, such as Europe, the US and Japan. For her, it was a remarkable and unforgettable experience.
Decor Wellness®
Decor Wellness® was created through Martina’s intuition, and is shaped by all the values she believes in as an architect and interior designer, where the home needs its own identity.
For Martina, it’s not about simply creating a place, but about creating an ambiance that makes unforgettable moments and memories, brings wisdom, and influences people into feeling well. It’s about transmitting the essence of each one and transforming these sensations into a house made in a unique way, while also bringing into the environment a variety of elements from nature.
